1.paraphrase
   (v) to express in a shorter, clearer, or different way what someone has said or written

   (adj) seeming to be the reason for or the purpose of something, 
           but usually hiding the real reason or purpose


3.digress
  (v) to talk or write about something that is not your main subject:

  (adj) very strange and difficult to explain


5.candor
   (n) the quality of being honest and telling the truth, even when the truth may be unpleasant or embarrassing


6.morose
  (adj) bad-tempered, unhappy, and silent


7.adept
  (adj) good at something that needs care and skill


8.saturated  [= soaked; ≠ dry]
  (adj) extremely wet


9.pragmatic  [↪ dogmatic]
  (adj) dealing with problems in a sensible, practical way instead of strictly following a set of ideas

  (adj) pleasant in a way that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed

(adj) likely to change your mind suddenly or behave in an unexpected way


12.blatant
(adj) something bad that is blatant is very clear and easy to see,
        but the person responsible for it does not seem embarrassed or ashamed


13.obligatory[= compulsory, mandatory]
(adj) something that is obligatory must be done because of a law, rule etc


14.negligible[= insignificant]:
(adj) too slight or unimportant to have any effect

(adj) determined not to change your opinion or a decision that you have made


16.sporadic [= intermittent]
(adj) happening fairly often, but not regularly

(n) legal document that is signed by a judge, allowing the police to take a particular action
     an official document giving someone the right to do something, for example buy
(v) to promise that something is true

(adj) bad-tempered and complaining a lot

(adj) not being serious about something that other people think you should be serious about


43.subjugate
(v) to defeat a person or group and make them obey you


44.wry
(adj) a wry expression or wry humour shows that you know a situation is bad, 
        but you also think it is slightly amusing


45.urbane
(adj) behaving in a relaxed and confident way in social situations


46.jargon
(n) words and expressions used in a particular profession or by a particular group of people,
     which are difficult for other people to understand - often used to show 


47.prudent
(adj) sensible and careful, especially by trying to avoid unnecessary risks


48.inviolable
(adj) an inviolable right, law, principle etc is extremely important 
        and should be treated with respect and not broken or removed


49.commodious
(adj) a house or room that is commodious is very big


50.proximity
(n) nearness in distance or time
